Discover one of the most extraordinary patriotic cartographic works ever published in Poland with this remarkable Historical Poland Map Poster, created around 1910 by publisher Stanisław Tomaszewski. Produced during the final years of the Partitions of Poland, this richly illustrated work commemorates the Polish struggle against the anti-Polish policies of the Prussian authorities, including the expropriation of Polish landowners and restrictions on the public use of the Polish language.

More than a historical map, this is an impressive visual celebration of over a thousand years of Polish history and national identity.

At its center is a beautifully detailed map of the historic Polish lands, showing cities, rivers, railways, administrative divisions, and numerous historic battlefields that shaped the nation's past. Despite Poland's political division at the time, the map presents the country as one historic homeland.

Surrounding the map is an exceptional historical gallery featuring portraits of virtually every ruler of Poland, beginning with Mieszko I and continuing through the Piast dynasty, Jagiellonians, elected monarchs, and later rulers. Alongside them appear portraits of Polish representatives serving in the German Reichstag, the Prussian Parliament, the Russian Duma, and the Polish Circle in Vienna, documenting the political struggle for Polish rights in the early twentieth century.

The decorative border is equally remarkable, displaying 54 provincial coats of arms, 52 historic city coats of arms, 14 bishopric coats of arms, royal dynastic heraldry, and numerous national symbols. Above the map, the revered image of Our Lady of Częstochowa overlooks the composition together with a view of the Jasna Góra Monastery, emphasizing the spiritual heritage of the Polish nation.

Among the map's most iconic elements are reproductions of Jan Matejko's masterpiece The Prussian Homage (Hołd Pruski) together with excerpts from the Prussian laws targeting Polish land ownership and prohibiting the public use of the Polish language. These additions transform the map into a powerful historical statement documenting Poland's resistance to Germanization.

Combining historical cartography, portraiture, heraldry, political history, religious symbolism, and fine art, this magnificent composition is one of the most elaborate patriotic maps ever created. It is an exceptional piece for historians, collectors, genealogists, educators, and anyone passionate about Polish heritage.
